High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) are tamper-resistant number plates with a unique laser-etched code, snap locks, and reflective sheeting for improved security and visibility. This page answers the most common questions about eligibility, booking, installation, fees, and support.

If your question isn’t covered below, please use the contact details in the last section.

HSRP stands for High Security Registration Plate. It’s a standardized, tamper-resistant plate with a unique laser-etched alphanumeric code and non-removable snap locks. It helps curb vehicle theft, cloning, and plate tampering while improving night-time visibility due to reflective sheeting.

Most vehicles registered in India are required to have HSRP plates as per prevailing government notifications; timelines and enforcement can vary by state/UT.

All motor vehicles (private, commercial, two-wheelers, four-wheelers, EVs, etc.) are eligible/required as per state enforcement. In addition to HSRP, a fuel-type colour-coded sticker on the windshield is generally mandated for four-wheelers (e.g., Petrol/CNG, Diesel, Electric).

You can add the sticker to your order during booking (where applicable).

  1. Enter vehicle details (Registration number, State/UT, Vehicle class, Fuel type).
  2. Select fitment location/date (authorized fitment centre or partner outlet).
  3. Add colour-coded sticker (if needed) and review fees.
  4. Pay securely online and confirm your appointment.

You’ll receive an order/appointment confirmation via SMS/email.

  • Original RC/Smart Card or digital RC (DigiLocker/mParivahan).
  • Valid identity proof of the vehicle owner/representative.
  • Appointment/Order confirmation (SMS/email print or on phone).

For company vehicles, an authorization letter may be required.

Fees vary by vehicle class, plate size, and state/UT schedule. Your payable amount is shown at checkout before you confirm payment. The colour-coded sticker (if selected) is charged separately as per norms.

Lead times depend on booking volumes and location. You’ll choose the earliest available appointment, and we’ll fit the plates at your selected centre on your slot day/time.

HSRP stays with the vehicle. During ownership transfer, the same plates remain; details are updated in the Registration Certificate as per RTO process.

Traffic penalties are enforced by state transport/traffic departments and may include fines and vehicle inspection orders. Penalty amounts vary by state/UT and are subject to change.
